Call for Papers

The 2nd Advanced International Conference on Telecommunications (AICT06) continues the AICT05 event held in Lisbon on 2005.

The main track, AICT 2006, covers a variety of challenging telecommunication topics ranging from background fields like signals, traffic, coding, communication basics up to large communication systems and networks, fixed, mobile and integrated, etc. Applications, services, system and network management issues will also receive significant attention.

The second track, SAPIR 2006, covers aspects related to partial and intermittent services (pi-services), i.e., relevant in environments characterized by high volatility and fluctuation of available resources, such as experienced in conjunction with component mobility or ad-hoc networking, where the notion of traditional service guarantees is no longer applicable. P2P, GRID, Clusters, Web Services, Delay Tolerant Networks, Service/Resource identification and localization illustrate aspects where some components and/or services expose features that are neither stable nor fully guaranteed. Examples of technologies exposing similar behavior are WiFi, WiMax, WideBand, UWB, ZigBee, MBWA and others.

The third track on E-learning and mobile learning, ELETE 2006, refers to on-line learning delivered over the World Wide Web via the public Internet or the private, corporate intranet, including mobile learning. It provides an overview of technologies, approaches, and trends that are happening right now. It focuses on the latest trends in e-learning and also on the latest IT technology alternatives that are poised to become mainstream strategies in the near future and will influence the e-learning and mobile learning environments.

The fourth track on teletraffic, TELET 2006, addresses teletraffic modeling and management. It covers traffic theory, traffic control and QoS, performance evaluation methods, network design and optimization of wired and wireless networks, and simulation methodology for communication networks.

We solicit both academic, research, and industrial contributions. AICT 2006 will offer tutorials, plenary sessions, and panel sessions. The AICT 2006 Proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society and posted on Xplore IEEE system. A best paper award will be granted by the IARIA’s award selection committee. The Advisory Committee will periodically report special events relating to our community.

INSTRUCTION FOR THE AUTHORS

The AICT 2006 Proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services and on-line via IEEE XPlore Digital Library. IEEE will index the papers with major indexes.

Only .pdf or .doc files will be accepted for paper submission. All received papers will be acknowledged via the EDAS system.

Final author manuscripts will be 8.5" x 11" (two columns IEEE format), not exceeding 6 pages; max 4 extra pages allowed at additional cost. The formatting instructions can be found on the Instructions page.

Once you receive the notification of paper acceptance, you will be provided by the IEEE CS Press an online author kit with all the steps an author needs to follow to submit the final version. The author kits URL will be included in the letter of acceptance.

Technical marketing/business/positioning presentations

The conference initiates a series of business, technical marketing, and positioning presentations on the same topics. Speakers must submit a 10-12 slide deck presentations with substantial notes accompanying the slides, in the .ppt format (.pdf-ed). The slide deck will be published in the conference’s CD collection, together with the regular papers. Please send your presentations to [email protected]. 

Tutorials

Tutorials provide overviews of current high interest topics. Proposals can be for half or full day tutorials. Please send your proposals to [email protected] 

Panel proposals:

The organizers encourage scientists and industry leaders to organize dedicated panels dealing with controversial and challenging topics and paradigms. Panel moderators are asked to identify their guests and manage that their appropriate talk supports timely reach our deadlines. Moderators must specifically submit an official proposal, indicating their background, panelist names, their affiliation, the topic of the panel, as well as short biographies.
