Dr. Mario D. Hoffmann
Dr. Mario D. Hoffmann (42) received his master degree in computer science from Darmstadt University of Technology, Darmstadt, Germany, in 1998. His master thesis he completed at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
In 1999 he joined "Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Angewandten Forschung e.V." as a research associate becoming project manager in 2001 and head of department "Secure Mobile Systems" in 2004. Since 2009 he has been responsible for the research department "Service & Application Security" at the new location, the Fraunhofer-Institution for Applied and Integrated Security (AISEC) in Garching (near Munich).
Mario Hoffmann has been coordinating research projects and proposals for more than ten years. So far he published more than twenty publications and has been track and workshop chair as well as member of the programme committee of distinguished conferences, inter alia CENTRIC 2009-2013. In research and development he focuses on multilateral secure identity management in contextual environments.
Mr. Hoffmann has been chair of the Working Group "Security&Trust" of the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) from 2005 to 2012. Since 2009 he has been playing an active role in the Kantara Initiative – hosting the yearly conference in 2012. Moreover, he is a member of ACM, Cloud Security Alliance, BITKOM, GI (Germany) and CCC (Germany).
